"Importing and exporting could be smoother"
I really thought Final Draft would make moving files in and out a little easier. When I imported my script, the formatting got weird in a bunch of places, and the export options felt more limited than I expected. I ended up fixing a lot by hand, which was frustrating, though to be fair, the app still does a lot well once everything is set up. For the price, I just wish this part felt less clunky.

"Not the easiest to figure out"
I tried using it for a bit, it just felt more confusing than it needed to be. I’m sure it could work fine once you get the hang of it, but for me it wasn’t very easy to use.

"Page Count Was Incorrect"
I noticed the number of pages was wrong, actually, let me rephrase that, it didn’t match what I was expecting from the listing. It was a bit frustrating and made the product feel misleading.

"Not as smooth as I expected"
I really wanted Final Draft to make screenplay formatting easier, but it was kind of frustrating. The formatting kept doing random things on me, like scene headings and dialogue spacing shifting when I didn’t expect it. What made it more annoying was trying to figure out how to fix it, because I felt like I kept getting inconsistent answers depending on where I looked or what setting I tried. Maybe I missed something, but for the price, I expected it to feel a lot more polished. It works, but it wasn’t as clean or easy as I hoped.

"Really Slow to Load"
I tried using it a few times, usually while sitting on my couch with coffee, and it just loads so slowly that it gets annoying fast. I kept thinking maybe it was my Wi-Fi, but other stuff on my phone was working fine. Not the worst thing ever, but definitely frustrating...

"Subscription is starting to feel pricey"
I’ve been using the service for a while, but the subscription feels a bit too expensive now. For the price, I’d expect things like support or responses to be quicker. It’s still useful, but I’m starting to question whether it’s worth the cost...
"The beat board is kind of a hassle"
I tried using the beat board, it just feels clunky. Moving things around should be simple, but it ends up being annoying every time I try to use it.

"Good on laptop, but cross-device use needs work"
Final Draft works fine on my laptop, but switching between my desktop and iPad has been more frustrating than I expected. Sometimes the files don’t sync properly, and the layout feels just different enough to slow me down. It still gets the job done, but for what I paid, I expected the cross-device experience to be a lot smoother. i’d appreciate some kind of credit or compensation if this is a known issue, because it’s been inconvenient

"From what I remember using it…"
From what I remember using it, the dialogue tools did help and saved me some time, which I appreciated. But a few parts felt kind of clunky, and for the price, I expected the whole experience to be a little smoother. It’s not a bad tool overall, just not quite as polished as I thought it would be.

"Installation was kind of a hassle"
Getting Final Draft installed took longer than I expected. The download part was totally fine, but the activation kept acting strange, and I ended up having to restart my computer twice before it finally worked. It wasn’t a complete disaster or anything, but for paid software, I really thought the setup would be smoother. Once I actually got it open, it seemed okay, but yeah, the install process definitely left a rough first impression.

"Collaboration Was More Frustrating Than It Needed to Be"
Trying to write with other people ended up being way more frustrating than I expected. The sharing and syncing kept getting in the way, and it felt like an unnecessary hassle for something that should’ve been simple...

"I bought this mostly for the templates…"
I bought this mostly for the templates, but honestly... they ended up feeling basic and not as helpful as I expected. I still had to fix a lot of things on my own, which kind of defeated the purpose for me. For the price, I was hoping for a lot better.

"Good for scripts, but feels a little dated"
I mostly use it for scripts, and for that it works well. Maybe I’m just not using all the features the right way, but the overall feel seems a bit outdated to me. It gets the job done, though.

"I do like Final Draft for actually writing..."
I do like Final Draft for actually writing, like once I’m in a script it feels solid and familiar, but the cloud sync has been kind of weird for me. Sometimes it works exactly how I expect and everything updates, and then other times I’m sitting there wondering if I’m looking at the latest version or if I need to close it and reopen it again. It’s not a dealbreaker or anything, just one of those small annoying things that adds up when you’re trying to stay in the flow. I guess I expected it to feel a bit more seamless

"Good for writing, frustrating for sharing files"
I’ve used a few different screenwriting apps over the years, so I expected Final Draft to be smoother when moving files around. It works fine on its own, but when I tried opening my script in another app, it didn’t come through right and some of the formatting got messed up. For the price, I expected a better experience. It’s not terrible, but it can be frustrating if you need to share files with other people.

"Powerful, but a little much sometimes"
Final Draft definitely has a ton packed into it, and I genuinely like how detailed the formatting and screenplay tools are. It pretty much covers everything I need when I’m writing a script! That said, some features feel kind of hidden... or just not super obvious at first. I had to click around for a while to figure out where things were and how they worked. Overall, it’s solid software — just a bit heavy if you’re only using it casually.

"Character tools feel a bit limited"
I was hoping for a little more help with character stuff. The tools are there, but they feel basic right now, and I didn’t get as much support as I expected. It’s not bad, just feels like it could use more depth.
"Kind of a letdown for story mapping"
I gave Final Draft a shot mostly for story mapping, it just frustrated me. Moving things around felt slow and clunky, and instead of helping me stay organized, I kept losing track of my scenes. For what it costs, I expected it to make planning way easier, but it pretty much did the opposite. Maybe some people love it, but to me it felt like all these screenwriting tools are always a little outdated and annoying to use.

"I’ve been trying to export my files as..."
I’ve been trying to export my files as PDFs, but the output keeps looking blurry and unprofessional. It’s frustrating because I need to send these documents to clients, and right now they don’t look usable. I’ve already tried exporting a few different times with the same result, so I’d really like this looked into and escalated if needed.

"The outline editor feels sorta clunky"
I tried using the outline editor, but it just feels sorta hard to work with. Things get messy quickly, and it doesn’t feel as smooth or intuitive as I was hoping.
